MS Word

On October 25, 1983, Microsoft produced the word processor known as Microsoft Word. It is a piece of the Microsoft software.

When using Word to produce documents, you have the option of starting with a blank document or using a template that is shared by all Microsoft Applications.

You may make a polished résumé, cover letter, flyer, and much more using Word.

Additionally, you can write appreciation letters and certificates. You can also make a to-do list.

You can type regular words in the document, as the name implies.

Open documents stored on your PC or Onedrive to store information and access it later. Information can be changed, added, and removed.

All you need to know is how to use the word ribbon's commands.

To better grasp the commands, open "Word" and explore them all.

Amazing features are available in Word.

Utilize mail merge.

Sending personalised letters, labels, invitations, etc. is known as mail merging.

To ensure that each recipient receives letters on their name, you must only type your letter once and use mail merge. You only need to add contacts to placeholders from your contact list. It involves six steps.

 MS Excel

What is Excel (MS)? MS Excel is a spreadsheet programme, as we mentioned before. However, you may be asking what a spreadsheet programme is.

A spreadsheet application is one that has numerous cells, which are little boxes made up of numerous rows and columns.

The data is entered inside these cells, allowing us to arrange it neatly, as you can see in the MS Excel snapshot below. We may also format the data using the same method, which, to put it simply, means formatting.

Making decisions on how the data will appear, the colour of the cells, the colour of the text, etc., greatly aids in organising the data.

As a spreadsheet tool, MS Excel allows us to complete all of these tasks. In addition to these, MS Excel also provides us with more functions, which we shall discuss below. Now that you are aware of what MS Excel is, you don't need to learn about its features. You can read this post for more details if you're interested. I learned about Microsoft Excel from this site.

MS PowerPoint

Microsoft PowerPoint is a reputable presentation-making programme that has been around for years. It has several characteristics that make it a potent presentation tool.

You'll discover the history of Microsoft PowerPoint in this course, along with the PowerPoint version that best suits your requirements. Additionally, you'll find tutorial resources to help you begin learning how to use its extensive toolkit.

Power Point

PowerPoint is used as a visual aid while a presenter moves through their presentation of a choice, an idea, a sales pitch, etc. Avoid adding too many words to your slides and focus on adding only the most essential bullet points.

The simplicity of use and capacity to produce a seamless presentation flow are two benefits of PowerPoint, but its inability to accurately depict the intricacy of some themes and the requirement for minimal presentation equipment are two drawbacks.

MS Access

Microsoft Access is an old relational database programme. It is simple to use while also being quite powerful when used correctly.

There are tables, queries, forms, and reports, each with their own function. Furthermore, VBA is a scripting language that can be used to create quite powerful solutions. There is also scripting for Do commands, which works well as low code scripting.

The passthrough query is a cool feature of MS Access that allows queries to be simply passed through to other databases and the results returned to MS Access. This opens the door to easily incorporating SQL Server, MS SQL, Sqlite, or any other ODBC compliant database to communicate.

Additionally, Access supports linked tables, which allow data to be directly linked to excel files or ranges, updating Access when the file or range is changed.

Since Power BI and SQL Server have taken center stage in recent years, Microsoft has diminished the importance of Access. At one time, MS Access had built-in pivot table views, making it extremely powerful for implementing business intelligence using pivot tables.

The SQL query can also be manually typed, however the Query interface is mostly graphical. The query language contains several strong jewels like D Lookup, D Sum, and others.

MS Outlook

Microsoft Outlook is a business tool typically used for internal communication within an organisation. Outlook is a Microsoft product made for unbroken office communication that is formal in tone and aids in separating personal from professional emails.

If you are familiar with and have used Gmail, Outlook can be thought of as the business version of Gmail. You can send, receive, and organise emails both inside and outside of an organisation using Outlook (if permitted). It enables you to send emails to several recipients at once, highlight emails that are important and rank them according to importance. One firm department, let's say the HR department, might have a group email account for all the HR personnel. As a result, every person receives emails sent to the group ID.

Microsoft has connected all of its platforms in a way that enables efficient and seamless operation of all software. Ms Teams and Outlook are connected seamlessly for calendar management and meeting scheduling. Additionally, OneDrive, OneNote, and SharePoint are all connected.

MS OneNote

Since Office 2010 days I used to feel OneNote is an annoying tool accompanied with Office just like Access used to be there. Then one day I started using it for taking notes of online utility payment receipts.

After a while I decided saving articles in a notebook regarding all the things I found online inspiring, motivating or educating.

I had to also keep track of all the expenses I am making as a student. I tried many expense manager but process was really cumbersome. I decided to try OneNote and I am using it since an year. I create a new page. Every day at night or perhaps in two days I remind myself of all the expenses and note them down one expense in a line. A line gap means a day gap. :P

Then, I started using OneNote for saving all the ideas I get for apps or products for future to refer to. I have a dedicated section for documents where I keep scanned copies of all personal documents and identity proofs.

And then, it was work! Its a great tool to collaborate. While working on projects as freelancer, I use a shared notebook to synchronize designs, to-dos and other important stuff with my client. If I am working on a personal project with friends, we use it to keep all the information organized in sections and eventually pages. :)

Its a very versatile tool I must say.

Summary

It was first made available in 1990 and is a Microsoft Corporation proprietary software. Microsoft Office is supported on Windows, Mac, and the majority of Linux distributions, and it is available in 35 different languages. Applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, One Note, Outlook, and Publisher make up the majority of it.
